The DragOn Bang Light Pro

    System at a Glance

An overview of what's included. Scroll down for details on each component.

    Tree Stalk + Sensor Base

Measuring 16" tall and 12" wide assembled, the tree features 50 watt equivalent 2" LED bulbs for easy viewing in any light conditions and high speed IR sensors integrated into the base. The lamp housings can be adjusted individually, horizontally to accommodate driver location. Powered by one 20V MAX DeWalt battery.

    Finish Line Ramp

Designed to deflect vehicles that go off course, the finish line has high speed IR sensors integrated into the sides to declare the winner and calculate Et. No separate power supply required, it is powered directly from the tree via the included data cable.

    Wireless Control Box

System settings and race results in one convenient wireless package. Rt, Et, Race #, Winning Lane, DNF, and Foul info are all displayed on an easy to read backlit LCD.  - Powered separately from main system, requires 5-24v DC power source.

    IR Sensor Reflectors

Starting line reflectors are combination units designed to serve both sensors on the tree base at a max lane width of about 7'. The internally reinforced finish line reflectors are more durable and have a higher reflectivity rating allowing up to 14' wide finish lanes.

    Settings & Results - Wirelessly

    Settings & Results - Wirelessly

Some of the most frequent requests we received were: Quick setup time, foul AND finish sensors(so no one needs to set up cameras and review footage), and to make the whole experience fair - for everyone.

Well, we did that. High speed IR sensors and 0.001s resolution, combined with automatic foul and double-foul handling, built-in DNF handling(with adjustable timeout), and introducing the DragOn Virtual RaceMaster. A digital voice that clearly announces when to "Watch the Lights" and which lane won.

With the wireless Control Panel, results are automatically displayed, up to 75 feet away, after each race for 20 seconds. System settings can also be configured from the main menu such as, DNF Timeout and Virtual RaceMaster Volume. A race counter on the top left of the results screen keeps track of how many races have run since the system was powered on. Control panel is powered by a standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm, center positive barrel plug, one male connector with pigtail is included for you to fashion your own 2S-4S lipo pack adapter.

    Remote Start

    Settings & Results - Wirelessly

    Remote Start

While the wireless control panel shows you all the information, the real starter is the handheld RaceMaster remote. Small in size and paired to each system individually, click and hold the single button on this remote until you hear "WATCH THE LIGHTS" to initialize the race countdown. A fully randomized 3000 millisecond - 5000 millisecond delay, which changes every race, silently counts in the background so no one can ever "time", "guess", or "count' the green. - Yes, we're looking at you Futaba Tx Owners. 😏

    Brace for Impact

Finish Line reflectors seem to be the most powerful race car magnets known to humanity. While we could've used Yoga blocks, they're bulky for storage, transportation, and shipping. So we designed these. Weighted with an internal ballast to prevent wind knocking them over. They feature a recessed reflector protected by a flexible Polyethylene shell and bonded internally with a semi-rigid polyurethane reinforcing casting agent, these finish reflectors will take a beating.

Two sets of individual infrared sensor beams integrated into the tree base serve multiple purposes. The first set act as your staging and Reaction Time recording sensors, the second set is to detect when someone is staging too deep before the race begins - the system won't let the race begin if one or both racers are too deep. When the remote is pressed, the race sequence begins, and the second set changes modes to serve as a jump detectors, redlighting anyone who thinks they can "trick" the Rt foul/staging trigger into delaying the time capture because they have a longer body or wheelie bar..

The system runs on proprietary, purpose built software, DragOS, and fully custom hardware, both completely designed by us, which means there's No secret RaceMaster or Admin menus, no hidden settings, no fancy tricks hidden under the hood somewhere - Just Racing. There are only 2 user facing settings: 1) Number of seconds until a DNF is declared, and 2) The speaker volume for the Virtual RaceMaster voice. That's all - Heads Up Racing the way it was meant to be. Racing should always be about the better driver and car tune, not who knows what settings the event master secretly changed right before your pass.

    Features

    Compact, Standalone System

No laptop or external equipment needed. Set it up, turn it on, align the reflectors, and enjoy! The tree stands 16 inches tall when assembled, featuring large 2 inch diameter, fully horizontally adjustable LED lamps for easy viewing and adjustment.

    Modular Design

The tree stalk and base with integrated starting line sensors detach from one another for easy storage and can be quickly assembled using one simple thumbscrew and the provided Cat6 cable..

    Rapid Races

Designed and built with racers in mind, we wanted to reduce down time and let you focus on racing! Time between races is the user adjustable DNF timeout + 20 seconds for the results display and winning lane lamp animation.

    Results in a Flash

Having the system self contained has its advantages. Namely, there's no need to open an app on your phone, check a laptop screen, wait for a camera review, or anything like that. Within about 0.2 seconds of a race concluding, the winning lane lamps flash in a chasing pattern, results are displayed right on the control box LCD, complete with Rt, Et, Race sequence number, winning lane, foul/DNF info, and even double foul scenarios and outcomes. Simple.

    Day or Night, No Problem

The system uses 50 Watt equivalent LED bulbs which are easily seen in any light conditions. At night or even in the middle of a bright, sunny day.
